Brick are Bridie Jackson and Nick Pierce. Bridie is a songwriter (best known from the folk quartet Bridie Jackson and The Arbour) and Nick is a viola player. The duo started making music together during the first Lockdown of 2020, and they now write and produce ‘dreamy acoustic music’ with the occasional synth from their home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Brick self-produce and release their music to critical acclaim; since their first release in late 2023, they have received glowing reviews in NARC magazine, The Crack, received play on BBC Introducing Radio Newcastle, and have spellbound audiences at live shows across the North East.
Brick also compose soundtracks for dance and theatre productions and are currently working with choreographer Jennifer Essex and TeesDance Ltd. In 2023, Brick were commissioned by The Customs House Theatre to create the soundtrack for a dance production of Antoine De Saint Exupery’s beloved children’s book, The Little Prince, which fused song, acoustic, electronic, ambient and folk influences.
