You don't need any performance, theatre, or comedy experience to join Beginners at all. People come from all walks of life, and any early nerves will soon fly!
Held over 6 weekly Tuesday classes, each week introduces a new step, reflects, and builds on the previous week. As the course progresses, you’ll play theatrical games and take part in short improvised scenes. You’ll learn how to ‘Accept and Build’ on each other’s ideas, the ‘Who What Where’ that makes up the start and context of storytelling, the way ‘Status’ and body language affect you and others, and how risk-taking and a positive response to making mistakes leads to creativity. You'll learn the guiding principles of improv, acquire a set of tools and techniques, and develop the underpinning skills that enable you to be in-the-moment and connect and collaborate with others creatively.
You’ll emerge with a solid foundation in the FUNdamentals of Improv, and have an utterly brilliant time getting there!
