The Old Black Cat Jazz Club meets each month, on the third Friday of the month, for relaxed performances in beautiful surroundings. All are welcome.

A full seventeen-piece big band,The Customs House Big Band brings an evening of swing, jazz classics and modern favourites to The Old Black Cat Jazz Club.

Featuring professional and semi-professional musicians from across the North East, this acclaimed ensemble has built a reputation as one of the region's most exciting and entertaining big bands. Under the direction of Peter Morgan, the band delivers a swinging rhythm section that captures the spirit of the great jazz orchestras.

From the timeless music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Stan Kenton to the contemporary sounds of Gordon Goodwin, the programme spans more than eighty years of big band music. Expect everything from classic swing and Bebop favourites to vibrant modern arrangements.
