Pod on the Tyne Live - Gosforth Civic Theatre

Empty football pitch at night with lights
After two sold-out shows at Gosforth Civic Theatre, Pod on the Tyne live is back — not quite as you previously knew it, but still as irreverent and entertaining as ever.

This now-independent podcast about all-things Newcastle United is as informative and authoritative as it is humorous, sausage-y and, at times, absurd.

Taylor Payne is the guitar-playing host, trying to keep The Athletic's George Caulkin and Chris Waugh on track as they provide insight into the goings-on behind the scenes at St James' Park, with never-before-told stories and off-the-record anecdotes. Their colleague, Jacob Whitehead, is a relapsed Everton fan who cannot quite bring himself to admit that he secretly loves NUFC. Then there is the mysterious 'Producer Ollie', who is seldom seen and certainly never heard, but his powers of alchemy somehow keeps it all together (well, just about, anyway).

For the first time in a live-show environment since the Carabao Cup triumph at Wembley in March, the crew will also attempt to convey what it is like to cover Newcastle United now that the club are winners. With the show commencing at the height of the January window, Chris and George will also provide a well-sourced update on Newcastle's dealings and transfer strategy.

With special guests, fun and arguments guaranteed, it promises to be another great night chronicling the fortunes of Eddie Howe’s trophy-lifting Mags.
