Upstairs at The Hotspur - a comedy one-act play by award winning local writer, Dick Curran.
The Northumberland Nationalist Party - a small but fanatical group dedicated to re-establishing the ancient kingdom of Northumbria - meet in the upstairs room of The Hotspur. The group's current strategy to publicise and advance their cause, is to bring the Lindisfarne Gospels back to the north east, by stealing them from the British Library.
Housebound , a comedy by Simon Mawdsley, writer of Audacity .
Agoraphobic housewife, Lydia, hasn't been past her front door in years. One afternoon, a reluctant villain bursts in and suddenly the walls of her home become a different form of confinement. In a swift pulse-measuring hour, of hostage and host-turned-something-else, unease turns to empathy, fear gives way to connection, and laughter emerges in the strangest corners.
