A fun crafting session for all. Our friendly staff will be on hand to support, and a variety of materials will be available.
This February half term we're making portraits using air drying clay.
Roll out the clay and sculpt features to make a face. Press it together with your fingers and a dab of water. Will you make a portrait of yourself, someone you're with, or a face inspired by the artworks in the gallery?
Take your clay home and leave it to dry naturally (24 - 72 hours). You can then paint it at home. If you don't have paints at home, let us know by emailing Hannah.Mackay-Jackson@northeastmuseums.org.uk and we'll arrange a date for your family to come back to paint it at the Shipley.
Suitable for all ages, recommended 3+.
