The Walks:
1. Grey’s Monument to Cathedral (1.5 miles / 2.4 km) Start at the towering Grey’s Monument, weave through the vibrant city centre, explore Grainger Market and Chinatown, admire ancient town walls and a preserved Friary, and finish at the stunning St Nicholas Cathedral.
2. Cathedral to Millennium Bridge (1 mile / 1.6 km) Begin at the cathedral’s unique spire, descend the quirky Dog Leap Stairs, marvel at the Tyne Bridge’s engineering, and end at the scenic waterfront — home to four dramatically different bridges and plenty of places to relax.
Both walks are wheelchair and buggy accessible, with minor diversions if needed.
