The Snowman trail 2020 Newcastle

Follow a festive trail around North Tyneside's town centres this winter. The Snowman and The Snowdog trail is available from Saturday 14 November through to the end of January 2021.

The trail is made up of 20 stunning life-sized sculptures located in and around North Tyneside's town centres. Interactive apps for iPhone and Android are available for download in the app stores now with the proceeds going to St Oswald's Hospice. The trail is inspired by The Snowman and The Snowdog short animated film released in 2012 and the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ worldwide and much-loved hit The Snowman.

You can download a map to print at home too by clicking here.

You'll find Snowmen based on the much-loved 12 Days of Christmas song and eight uniquely decorated Snowdogs in and around Wallsend, North Shields, Killingworth, Tynemouth and Whitley Bay.

Local artist Lisa Kirkbride’s Partridge in a Pear Tree Snowman will be found outside retailer For The Love of the North at the famous Spanish City in Whitley Bay.

A print and Christmas card based on Lisa’s design will be on sale there, and will also be available online and from selected St Oswald’s Hospice shops. Proceeds from the trail activities will go to St Oswald’s to support the vital work they do.

Please respect others and maintain social distancing whilst enjoying the trail.

This initiative is organised by North Tyneside Council and Wild in Art and is supported by the North of Tyne Combined Authority.

During the covid-19 lockdown, please follow government guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
