Another Star and Shadow fundraising gig to behold! This time we are extremely pleased to say we have been very lucky again and managed to get another 3 live bands who are amongst the finest in the city and more will be added later.
No Teeth - if you came to the last fundraising gig they played here you'll know there's no band like them in Newcastle or in the world, a distinctive wall of art rock and noise pop made to dance to, delivered by a six piece who deserve a bigger stage than ours like they had supporting Warmduscher on tour a year ago and will inevitably get it. Their first full length album is on the way soon.
Muckle - describe themselves as "a sweaty noise complaint based in Leeds". After seeing them at The Lubberfiend supporting Current Affairs recently and a gig in London online we contacted them the next day to get them for this. A very exciting live act who have yet to release their first album.
Gonzo Dog - For those of us that spend our time in the independent venues of Newcastle, Gonzo Dog should be a name that is instantly recognisable. Composed of Guthrie and DJ Carbomb, their live performances have become iconic and their sound is a combative, dark, electronic collage. Gonzo Dog perform gigs frequently, and these live performances are an important aspect of the Gonzo Dog identity.
