Visit St Mary's for the Annual Winter Festival. A range of festive events with a fabulous Christmas Tree installation as the showcase event!

  • St Mary’s Christmas Fair- Sat, 19 November 2022, 11:00 – 15:00 Browse our stalls for some unique and handcrafted gifts within the beautiful surroundings of St Mary’s for a magical Christmas shopping experience. Stallholders include Envy Candles, Sixteen Bakes, Anita's Chocolate Hop and Marie's Wax Melts. Festive refreshments and homemade Christmas treats will be available from the fantastic volunteers of St Mary’s Heritage Group £1 entry for adults, pay on the door

Please note not all stallholders have facilities to take card payments so please bring cash with you


  • Frets on the Tyne Christmas Concert 1 December 2022, 11:00 – 12:00 Frets on the Tyne are an acoustic guitar group who meet weekly at St Mary’s. Join us for their Christmas concert to kick off December with some festive spirit! Free – just turn up
  • St Mary’s Christmas Tree Festival 6-22 December, 10:00-16:00 For this year’s annual Winter Festival we are joining the Emerald Explorer’s project to celebrate the Winter season! Working with local artists, a variety of community groups and organisations will decorate their own Christmas Tree to go on display at St Mary's Heritage Centre. Visit between 6th and 22nd December to get into the festive spirit and appreciate the work that has gone into the project. Free entry – refreshments available to buy Viewing during opening hours: 10am – 4pm Tuesday to Saturday, CLOSED Sunday/Monday
  • Winter Festival Evenings @ St Mary's Heritage Centre 8th & 15th December 19:00- 20:30 Enjoy the festive sparkle of our Christmas Tree Festival with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie, with a special performance by local musicians. Further details of performances will be given nearer the event.
    £5 – Pre-booking essential
    Doors open at 6.30pm for refreshments, music at 7pm and there will be time after the concert for you to explore the Christmas Tree display.
  • Festive Heritage Evening - Musical entertainment with Axum 13th December 19:00-20:30 Come along and tap your feet to the sound of the Axum Folk Ensemble, an eight-piece band based in the North East of England who will be playing traditional tunes from the British isles and beyond. Enjoy some seasonal refreshments in the interval. £3 – 7pm, doors open 6.30pm, refreshments available to buy All tickets should be pre-booked, there is NO walk up for this event.

  • Festive Coffee Morning 17th December 10:30-12:30am Take some time out from Christmas shopping and join us in our stunning surroundings for a delicious homemade festive treat and a hot drink from the volunteers of St Mary’s Heritage Group. Free entry – donations for refreshments are appreciated. Tickets are not required for this event, just turn up.
