ADD TO TRIP

Life Science Centre invite you to join them for a Spooky Autumn of activities and events at their Newcastle-based family attraction.

  • Open weekends until 23 October, then open 7 days a week.
  • It is recommended that you book tickets online ahead of your visit.

As the nights draw in and the temperatures drop, enjoy a feast of hands-on fun, live shows, experiments and fab stuff to make and take home. And there’s a good dollop of spooky science to get you thinking about your senses – can you really trust what you see, hear, smell and touch?

Enjoy the following fun for all the family this autumn at Life Science Centre with activities including:

  • Spooky Science live show: explore what scares us and why. Expect strange noises; mysterious moving objects and a creepy pumpkin that vomits spooky bubbles! (Ages 5+ recommended.)

  • Monster mash-up in the Making Studios: create a monster shadow puppet from different spooky parts. Make it perform in the shadow theatre, then take it home and scare your gran. (Ages 5+ recommended.)

  • Trick or Treat pop-up science* and skeleton trail: choose from mesmerising illusions where balloons scream and writing disappears, and see if you can find the life-sized skeletons around the centre. (*Pop-up science for ages 5+ recommended.)

  • Especially for under-7s: NEW Play Zone (from 23 October), pop-up play stations and discovery back packs.

  • Space Zone: launch your own rocket; be the boss in Mission Control and check out how astronauts poo in space. Explore the planets and night skies in the North’s biggest planetarium and see our Earth in whole new light with the stunning digital globe Sphere.

  • NEW Gaia, Earth replica created by British artist Luke Jerram. It’s wowed audiences across the globe and now you can wonder at this mesmerising and massive recreation of planet Earth. (From 16 October.)

  • LEGO® creations built by pro LEGO® artists. Be inspired to get building! Highlights include a huge four-metre-long airport – the handiwork of Warren Elsmore – and Stephenson's Rocket locomotive, by local artist Steve Mayes.

Everything is included in the price of your ticket, so you can start planning your fun-filled day out today.

Visits will last about 2-3 hours and pre-booking a timed slot online is essential. This applies to Members, children aged 4 and under and carers. Members must bring their membership card with them when they visit.
