Shifter of Shapes at Seven Stories listing

Shifter of Shapes: exploring The Lost Spells by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris is a immersive exhibition for families with children of all ages at Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children's Books. Open everyday until 31 March 2022 - pre-book your tickets.

The Lost Spells is a moving, joyful treasure of a book by creators Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris, who are also the team behind The Lost Words. Seven Stories' latest immersive exhibition experience invites visitors to step into nature, witnessing its power to amaze, console and bring joy.

At the heart of the exhibition is Red Fox – ‘Shifter of shapes and garbage-raider … Messenger, trickster, curfew-breaker’. Get a closer look at illustrator Jackie’s original paintings and recite Robert’s poems to bring Fox and his fellow creatures to life on the pages of our magical living book.

Find out more about the creative duo, peer into the hidden places where fox cubs nestle and jackdaws hide their treasure, and steal a glimpse into a wild landscape where foxes play.

After your exclusive, ticketed visit to the gallery, why not take a table in Seven Stories' Lost Spells Den and browse the book and make a beautiful themed bookmark, with a complimentary tea or coffee?

Suitable for all ages.
