Joanna’s going out tonight. Her boots are on, her phone’s in her pocket and she is going to dance until dawn. She isn’t going to think about how good a picture this would be, how happy everyone would be if she shared it, how she should share it, should prove she was there.
Joanna lives in two worlds, one old and one new, and sometimes it’s hard to tell which is more real. Just for tonight, her phone’s going down, her hands are going up, and she’d like to share with you.
Out-Out! is a development of Joana Geronimo’s recent work as part of Alphabetti Theatre’s Reaction Artist programme. Joyful, bright and lyrical, it brings people together in a moment of connection, and reminds us all that some things can’t be downloaded.
