Head to North Tyneside's coast for big weekends of watersports, pop-up food and drink events and very special one-off live music shows. North Sea Weekender is a series of events across surfing, stand up paddle boarding, special one off music shows, photography, mindfulness and more.

The North Sea Weekender series will feature the Tynemouth Surf Open, organised by Tynemouth Surf Co, alongside stand-up paddle board activities from Northern SUP Racing and Northerly Swell and some open water swimming with CBK Adventures. There'll be very special one-off music concerts at a range of venues.

The Big Dippa - 26- 27 August

The Big Dippa sees competitive and fun paddle board competitions alongside pop-up food, drink and music events with some of the region’s most sought-after street food providers and crowd-pulling DJs and artists on the stage. Now taking place Saturday 26 August.

Lee-Ann Curren at Tynemouth Watch House – 23 September

Lee-Ann Curren is a French-American surfer, musician, filmmaker, and multi-support artist born in 1989 in Biarritz, France. She comes from a family of surfers (her father Tom Curren is 3 times world champion) and started surfing at an early age. Despite a successful career in competitive surfing with 2 European titles before the age of 19, she quickly followed the urge to explore beyond it, surfing outside the box using different crafts, and nurturing her skills and interests in music, various visual arts, and filmmaking.

Tynemouth Surf Open 30 Sept – 1 October

The annual surfing competition returns attracting international competitors and featuring a national junior contest.

Organised by North Tyneside Council and supported by North of Tyne Combined Authority.
