Turn your theatre visit into an epic day out, with our Making Rubbish Music workshops!
Alongside our performances, we’re offering two days of fun activity workshops with our incredible composer and musical director, Rob Green. Rob is a vocalist/songwriter and RnB/soul/indie/rock/gospel artist from Nottingham. He has appeared on BBC Introducing, performed at The Royal Albert Hall and Glastonbury, and supported Earth, Wind & Fire, Eric Bibb and the Whitney Houston Hologram Tour. He has also designed and delivered workshops in forest schools, making music out of found objects.
"One of the best live performers in the UK... he blows your mind"-Dean Jackson, BBC Introducing
"Burning talent and charisma. I could listen to him all day"-Clare Teal, BBC Radio 2
"With a sound like this ROB.GREEN will probably be a national name by the time I finish my cornflakes"-Freshnet.co.uk
In the workshop, you will:
• Play musical games
• Make your own ‘rubbish’ musical instrument-to keep!
• Learn one of the songs from the show
•Create Rob’s famous ‘human loop pedal’
• Write your own eco-anthem
Haven’t taken out the recycling yet? Bring it along! We’ll be using (cleaned) plastic and other rubbish items to make our instruments, so if you have any spare–the more the merrier! Grown ups are welcome join in however all children participating must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the workshop. When booking, you can choose either to watch the show in the morning, and take part in our workshop in the afternoon, or vice versa.
Workshops have a max of 20 participants and if you would like to see the show please book separately
