The Parking Lot Social

Look out Newcastle, here comes the country’s most entertaining drive-in.

The Parking Lot Social – the ultimate drive-in experience – is rolling into Newcastle this month. Running from the 16 to 20 September, the next leg of UK drive-in events will take place at Kingston Park Stadium, with a packed line up of unmissable entertainment.

Running from Wednesday 16th to Sunday 20th September, the event is organised by the company behind the world’s biggest bouncy castle. It’s drive in entertainment like you’ve never seen it before with classic films, stand-up comedy, massive interactive party shows and food. Broadcast from the stage straight to your car, the shows give everyone the chance to get out the house and come together, while still keeping that safe distance apart.

Kicking off the Newcastle dates on Wednesday September 16th is the Parking LOL Comedy Night, featuring the very best stand-up talent. Promising an evening of laughs, Sunderland born comedian Matt Reed hosts the event, joined by Newcastle’s own Lauren Pattison, runner up for Ireland’s Comedian of the Year, Ryan Cullen, and Scottish headliner Fern Brady.

Movie lovers can take their pick of Joker (Thursday September 17th) and Grease (Sunday 20th September) or midnight showings of Scream (Friday September 18th) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Saturday September 19th).

The Big Weekender on the Friday and Saturday is your chance to really let loose. Each night features the Car-a-oke mass singalong with live music, awesome DJ battles with festival favourite Silent Disco, Party Bingo with prizes and plenty of twists and interactive quizzes where you compete with the entire crowd. It’s so much fun there’s a Social Kids version for families on Saturday and Sunday afternoons with the likes of The Big Family Quiz, Boy v Girl and Parent v Kid Silent Disco.

Parking Lot Social-ites take part in the fun from their own cars (250 carloads a show), parked in front of a vast custom-made performance set featuring two 40ft screens. Audio is transmitted directly from the stage to custom-made wireless headphones and through a dedicated FM radio channel for listening via the car stereo.

Keeping guests and staff safe, the whole event is designed with social distancing at its heart from entering the site, getting food delivered and taking a trip to the loo.

XL Event Lab has been staging large scale outdoor events around the world for the last 13 years and has welcomed over a million guests to their parties during that time. This summer, as well as touring the UK, The Parking Lot Social will also be taking place in 11 American cities and five in Australia.

Tickets for the Newcastle events start from £31.75 (per car) and are available to purchase now at theparkinglotsocial.co.uk.
