This workshop gives students an introduction into how ancient Greek hoplite soldiers would have been trained in the ancient world. They will get to handle some of the replica armour that they would have carried into battle and they will be encouraged to think about what life was like for a hoplite soldier. We will also use original material to re-imagine the story of a departing hoplite and consider how he may have felt as he prepared to go to battle.
