Newcastle Castle invite families and visitors to explore the historic castle this October Half Term and take part in their Halloween-themed activities from 25 - 31 October.

Book your day out at Newcastle Castle to discover the ancient history of the city and the thousands of stories and lives that passed through the heritage building which lends its name to Newcastle itself.

  • Creepy Crafts: 25 - 31 October, 10am - 4pm: Families will enjoy getting crafty with the self-led crafts available everyday. Create a terrifying mask or a fluttering bat!
  • Medieval Gaoler: 29 - 31 October, 10.30 - 4pm: The keeper of Newcastle Castle's medieval dungeon will be in residence, regaling you with gory tales of the Castle’s dark past and the horrible punishments that awaited the poor folks condemned to the dungeon.
  • Ghouls, Ghosts and Long-legged Beasts: 30 October, 10am - 4pm: Join the Castle's storyteller in the King’s Chamber for some hair-raising Hallowe’en tales. Ancient stories of ghosts, witches, werewolves, vampires and monsters will have you looking over your shoulder on Hallowe’en…
  • Meet the Reaper: 30 - 31 October, 10am - 4pm: The Grim Reaper will be wandering the halls of his favourite Castle this Hallowe’en. There’ll be a small prize for anyone brave (or foolish) enough to talk to him!
