Start your day with a visit to the Great North Museum to take part in The Roman Impact o n Ancient Britain workshop before heading over to Segedunum to take part in the Life in the Fort workshop.
At the Great North Museum: Hancock you will use our handling collection, roundhouse model and reconstruction of Benwell Roman Fort to investigate how Roman ‘Roman Britain’ actually was .
Before then travelling over to Segedunum to find about what it was like to train as a Roman soldier . Children will learn how to march and will attend a 'kit training' session in which an adult officer will get dressed in armour and equipped with weapons. They will also make their own Roman Helmet befor e learning how to fight as a Roman soldier.
