COMFORT

Glasgow brother-sister electropunk duo Comfort blew our minds when we saw them at Supernormal last summer, and were extremely happy to have them in town as they tour their debut album What's Bad Enough (FatCat Records)

Forging a genre-fluid, beat-driven sound through years of immersion in Glasgow's queer punk scene, Comfort collide glitched out synth sequences against sharp, danceable drums, leaving plenty of negative space available for Natalie's frantic lyrical delivery, which explores gender and sexuality with both a frank directness and a playful humour.

I laughed, I cried, I bought their merch, maybe you will too!

FASHION TIPS

North East sasscore no wavers Fashion Tips have been turning heads lately with both their intense live show, and their debut EP Fucking Hell (Panurus Productions).

Mangled, fractal guitars and lo-fi organ skronk are held aloft by dancefloor rhythms and hysterical, anxious vocals, bearing out their claim of playing the grossest pop songs. Come for the disco beats, stay for the tales of sapphic longing and feeling weird about everything!

SORORITY GRRRLS

Local teenage rioters Sorority Grrrls are a standout act from the latest wave of young and exciting new bands in and around Newcastle currently. Scooped for this bill after a set at a local queer punk fest, their sound draws elements from all eras of intense feminist rock, calling at X-Ray Spex, Bikini Kill, and even Kittie. Theyre grrreat!
