Calexico
Performing material from their latest album *Edge of the Sun* – a Latin-infused Americana record, Calexico reflect the culture of the American continent on which it was created.

Calexico have always crossed borders with their music – their name represents their embracing of a variety of genres and their collaborative method. Calexico is an open, moving project, led by **Joey Burns** and **John Convertino** and *Edge of the Sun* is a culmination of this. They began recording in Mexico, at the instigation of **Sergio Mendoza**, their keyboard player and the album’s co-producer - who made the musical arrangements for the Mexrrissey project as part of La Linea 2015.

Live, Calexico’s music is unconventional – the time signatures can be idiosyncratic, the mix of instruments (a merging of a guitar band with a Latin ensemble complete with brass and strings) brings an unfamiliar widescreen sound to audiences. But it is the energetic result, combined with their connection with each other and the audience which gives for a moving, celebratory experience.

Support comes from Guatemalan singer-songwriter, Gaby Moreno, mixing R&B, Blues and Latin Jazz.
