Bend&Shake is a multi-genre queer party run by women and non-binary people of the Global Majority. EVERYONE is welcome, but this event aims to provide a safer space for women, non-binary people, trans women, trans men, asylum seekers and QIPOC.
This Bend is a special one! In-between now and or Pride 2023 Bend&shake, we thought we would bring you something a little bit different to our usual programming. Join DJ Awkward Black Girl and Beccy Owen for a Silent Disco. In case you have never been to or heard of one, a silent disco is an event where you dance to music listened to on wireless headphones. You can switch from one channel to another to hear the different DJs.
We hope it will offer you an alternative to the Newcastle scene, which we feel misses out on representing marginalised communities. As usual, we will provide music that doesn't just stick to the idea of what "queer culture" is. Music will range from RnB, House, Disco, Pop, Funk, Indie, Hip Hip Hop Techno and more.
The venue is accessible with gender-neutral facilities. And as always, any bad behaviour and you will be asked to leave immediately.
