Flourish, Printmaking in Excellence - Northern Print

Selected from an open submission, the 14th Flourish Award for Excellence in Printmaking brings together a diverse range of prints by artists from across the UK.

Established in 2009 by West Yorkshire Print Workshop (WYPW), to champion printmakers working in Yorkshire, Flourish now celebrates work from across the UK. Each year the exhibition includes 12-15 artists shortlisted for the award by an independent panel of judges. This year’s judges were Grant Scanlan, Huddersfield Museums Manager; Lucy May Schofield, Printmaker and Artist; and Yasmin Canvin, Exhibitions Curator and Arts Director.

The Flourish Award offers an insight into artists working in printmaking today from across the UK - this year’s shortlist features 14 artists.

A wide variety of printmaking techniques are included in the exhibition, with a mix of highly skilled traditional printmaking alongside more experimental, unconventional work, pushing the boundaries of scale and medium. The changing selection panel each year offers a unique and exciting perspective every time.
