What attractions are open in NewcastleGateshead?

Many popular visitor attractions across NewcastleGateshead made a very welcome return this summer and have welcomed lots of happy visitors back through their doors. The most recent local lockdown restrictions which affect Newcastle, Gateshead and the wider North East means that there are a few more changes in place at attractions and leisure venues. You will only be able to visit in your households or support bubbles, with a maximum of 6 people. You'll notice when you next visit museums, galleries and cinemas that these venues have worked very hard to adapt how they operate responsibly in a post-lockdown world. Look out for the green Good To Go badge on attractions accredited by national tourism organisation - Visit Britain - and rest assured the venues have taken steps to introduce new safety measures. We will continue to update our website here on how to visit NewcastleGateshead safely

It's a good idea to plan ahead for your day out at an attraction around NewcastleGateshead as many venues have limited their access and require tickets to be pre-booked ahead of your visit. The more you know, the safer you'll feel and the better your experience will be. There is still so much to explore, enjoy and experience in NewcastleGateshead and the North East - thank you for continuing to follow guidelines, wearing your masks, washing your hands regularly and maintaining social distance.

An excellent way to look after yourselves and protect your mental health during these rollercoaster times, is to get some exercise (trying swimming at Newcastle City Baths or kayaking in the North Sea with CBK's Adventure Co.) or head out into the countryside. If you're looking for things to do to clear your head or find space in nature then check out how to Escape the Everyday in Autumn or head to one of the region's stunning parks and gardens

All late-night venues like Mr Mulligan's Space Golf, Ghetto Golf, Lane7 and cinemas will have to close at 10pm. Have a read of our guide to cinemas in NewcastleGateshead here to plan your first post-lockdown visit!
